Yang Weihan (b. 1999) was born in Dalian, China. He earned his BA degree from the school of journalism and communication, Tsinghua University, and currently studying in Calarts’s photography and media program for MFA. Yang’s art practice was built on everyday experience and personal memory. From elaborate constructions of memorial images to documentation of still-life and landscape, Yang’s pictures are usually produced under careful arrangement, in which those uncontrollable elements - micro expressions, moved traces, unconscious actions, etc. - express themselves freely. His works, often printed in large scale and rich in details, are open for subjective interpretations and narrations, explore the possibility of “Everyday” aesthetics and photography medium’s materiality and objectivity.
